In Q2 2023 the intensity of DDoS attacks increased and there was evidence of a new type of attack called HTTPS DDoS Tsunami. This type of attack is distinguished by extremely high RPS (requests per second) rates of sometimes as high as 880,000 or higher. Mitigation is a challenge because every few minutes it switches to a new unknown set of HTTP requests.
It was also noticeable that the DNS water torture made a momentary come back. Finally, as expected, a spike in attacks was noticeable during the high school exam period, but this did not cause any problems in mitigating these attacks.
