Download the DDoS report first semester 2018
The DDoS misery is far from over. DDoS attacks are still small, complex and targeted. In the first half of 2018, there were no major changes compared to 2017 – still we have seen some interesting developments.
What is striking this year, compared to 2017, is that the number of DDoS attacks continues to grow. If the trend of the first half of the year is continued, at the end of 2018 we will see more than 1000 attacks.
Where we did not see any major attacks in 2017, a handful of attacks of over 40 Gbps took place in the first half of 2018 – a small trend break, so to say.
The number of multivector attacks was also noteworthy. We can say that DDoS attacks are becoming even more complex, because we saw more than 200 multivector attacks – a lot more compared to the same period last year. In addition, we saw no less than 13 new types of DDoS. This indicates that DDoS attacks continue to evolve.
