FAQ
NBIP was established in 2001 by a group of six internet service providers, initially as an executive institute for wiretap orders as stipulated in the Telecommunications Act.
Since its establishment in 2001, NBIP’s mission has been to support internet service providers (ISPs) by offering services (including our NaWas and Lawful Interception & Disclosure) that can be operated efficiently.
Since its founding, NBIP has formulated five principles:
- Jointly contribute to a safe internet
- Non-profit
- Utilize each other’s expertise
- Share knowledge
- Profile
In addition to NaWas and the Lawful Interception & Disclosure services, NBIP helps participants comply with legal obligations, such as interception capabilities, portal for claims, security plan, continuity plan, setting up CIOT delivery. This allows parties offering their services via the digital infrastructure to safely provide them to their end users.
NBIP is a foundation with a director, a foundation board, and a Council of Participants. The board is the foundation’s decision-making body and meets at least twice a year.
